Collage I am a visual person. Like a lot of postwar kids I spent an incredible amount of time bombarded by the new medium of television. My parents subscribed to countless magazines so the printed page mezmerized me. I was fascinated with advertisements and the "commercial artists" who created them.

Drawings, Sculpture The spontaneity and plasticity of the clay medium makes hand building a process of discovery -- full of surprises. My approach is a collaboration where the clay and I work together to discover hidden shapes and reveal emotions and personalities through animal forms. Just as friends and acquaintances have their own distinctive traits and behaviors, each of my sculpted animals has personality and expresses a unique character. In this work, my intention is to explore higher emotional qualities we share with our fellow creatures and to help us appreciate our differences and ourselves.

Mixed Media, Public Art My artwork is concerned with qualities of space, light and pattern and how, together, they stimulate experiences of infinity and transcendence. With multiple techniques and materials, I employ elements of the landscape and its underlying micro and macro configurations in random arrangements with many transparent layers of oils, acrylics and epoxy resin.
